blown apex seal?

blown apex seal?

i have searched but i am just wondering how to tell if an apex seal is blow like what are some of the signs sorry im a newb when it comes to rotarary all i know is if a seal is blow ive got a rebuild so just let me know so if it has or does happen to me i will know thanks

Compression test, plughole "puff" test, or visual inspection through the exhaust ports are the three most common ways. "Puff test" is the simplest.

Pull one leading plug out and spin the motor over. You should hear constant wooshes. Put the plug back in and do the same for the other leading plug.

If you hear woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh then you are good.

If you hear any sort of pause in between the wooshes, then you have trouble.

With that info, you can search better and find out what broke in the engine. Search for woosh.
