Blower motor keeps blowing fuse
Hi all!
I have a strange issue. My heater blower keeps blowing it's fuse, whenever I start it. I have checked the motor and the resistor by taking the blower down, then checking each post of the wiring connecting it to 12v(works on every speed). So it seems that the resistor is ok too. What could be the problem? Bad ground?
I f anyone has an idea, please share...
Thanks!

Could just be that the blower box is full of crud and the fan is dragging, causing excess current draw. dirt and leaves can enter from the cowl plenum & build up over time.
Or it could be the motor bearings going bad, or a winding short that is causing too much current to be drawn.

SOLVED! Fuse blowing blower switch 1980
HI Y'ALL!!!
I managed to solve my mystery. During the process I have dismantled and cleaned the blower motor, which was fine and then the switch, which was shorting
Here's an infographic...

Just disconnect that wire?
Thank you for the infographic. Just to confirm; all you needed to do was disconnect that one wire from the switch and it solved your shorting issue? Was there any lost functionality from disconnecting that wire?
