big brake kit question...

Since respeed is pretty much dead, and I need to do the big brake upgrade I'm in a bit of a spot...would anyone who has this kit be able to give me dimensions and angles of the caliper brackets so that I can either fab my own or have n.j. mchuthen make me some?

Fronts use stock brackets with washers. Rear brackets might be a bit hard to duplicate..as they are custom brackets. Bottom has spacers welded to it..it works by running a left TII caliper on the right and a right caliper on the left. Youd also need the brackets to attach the ebrake cables.

No sorry. But literally you just put 2 fat washers between the caliper and bracket. Oh and I mounted them on the front. They don't mount in the same location as stock because the lower caliper bolt hits the ball joint. So the factory brackets are on opposite sides.. Or just swap the struts left to right that's what I did..just make sure to put the strut mounts in the same spot as factory (they spin). Or else caster/camber are gonna be off..I would get an alignment anyway. I do have pics of the completed brake swap in my build thread in my sig.

When I get home ill check your build thread. By chance would you happen to know the thickness of the washers you used?

Also did you need a support spring with your setup?

Maybe they changed my thread like I requested ill post some pics later when I get home.

I believe they're m12x 1.25 bolts..about 25-30mm long. With lock washers.

Support spring for what?

I saw a build thread someone did with an fc sub frame, hybridized fc/fb struts and they had a support spring for the calipers and brackets...ill search for a pic when I get home...mobile app doesn't have the best search function and my work has the internet locked up...no forum browsing on my work puter

Any pics of the bb setup that anyone can provide would be a great help.

Yeah the rear is one issue to try and figure out. I need the kit as well but I'll be making my own.

Here's the manual for the rear kit:
RE-Speed Rear Big Brake Kit Manual

I'll be basing my set on these diagrams in the manual.
