Ball Joint Grease Fittings?

Have been following the current threads on suspension/steering rebuilds as I'm doing these this spring.

Both threads appear to be using Moog steering components (as am I), but I notice in the pics that one poster has the grease nipples in the tie rod ends, while the other doesn't. Is this just a matter of the one build isn't complete and will install later, or do some of you choose to not install them? I purchased control arms from a member with installed ball joints to the steering knuckle, and these have nipples in them, so should I put them in my new tie rod ends, or is it strickly a matter of choice? Sorry for the dumb question. I did search, but I'm thinking the question is dumb enough to not warrant anything in the archives.

It's a good question. What does the install manual say to do? I would think if you can put a nip on do it.

exactly when you buy ball joints and such, there is usually premium line and a standard line.

most ball joint, tie rods and such whenI buy them I opt for the premium and I have gotten a grease fitting with them about 95 % of the time. if possible i would try to get the ones with grease fittings in them (because I am very into knowing that they are well greased on my cars) but dont think you would have any problems with non greasable ones either.

Well if you are talking about my thread... I have the Moog tie rod ends and ball joints. They all came with the grease fittings, I just have not installed them yet because I'm still working on the brakes.

Fittings

Thanks, that's what I suspected, but thought I'd check. I'll install mine too.

How much do the Moog tie rod ends and ball joints usually go for? I ask because I have always used Spicer parts and with the premium line they have grease fittings in them and are still reasonably priced. I think my Spicer inner and outter tie rod ends ended up coming to about $20 a piece from rockauto.

Moog outer ends $1.00 more than Spicer, inners are $0.50 more each. they include grease nipples as well.
