Is this a bad idea? Fuel Reg. line out

Well my local auto parts store did not have the piece I needed (3/8 inlet with a 90 degree bend with a fitting for a 3/8 hose) So I got the next nearest piece they had, 90 degree bend with 3/8 in and I have no idea what the out is. Ok so heres what I did and im curious if you think this is a bad idea, I bought a piece of copper piping that fit snuggly over the threads of the out and hammered it on and jbwelded all of the areas around it so it could not leak. Is this a bad idea to do? Im going to have a inline fuel filter before the carb so Im not too worried about deteriation of the jb weld im just wondering if you guys think it will hold up?

Thanks!

I wouldn't trust my car and my life (among other lives) to JB Weld.

You should have posted a pic of the fitting you picked up... someone could have told you what it is...

It makes me wonder why I can't find a fitting like that anywhere it didnt look like summit had that either. Maybe im just looking for something that doesnt exist... a 3/8 in with a 90 degree bend, with a 3/8" hose adapter...

You can't solder over JB weld. Should have been able to find a fitting that connected to the 90 degree that would have a hose nipple They sell them in about every hardware and parts store. Otherwise go to you local parts store or shop that makes hydraulic hoses and have a entire hose made. But use hose rated for fuel.

well just an update, since I was skeptical on the jb welded ghetto part I went to my local napa store and they had the proper joint combination I needed. Im happy about this because nothing would be worse then a fuel leak, especially in the long run when you least expect it....

I don't think you can solder over JB Weld! It does not even conduct electricity, so it has no metal content! Start over with the same idea and just weld it!
