The backspaqce on my Epsilons, (15X7/8) is 4" These would clear the fenders, front and rear, if I didn't have lowering springs. Backspace on the Revolutions, 13X8 is also 4" Backspace on the SSRs, 15X9/10, is ~ 4-3/4", but I had to add a 1/8" spacer to clear the front TII brake caliper. Haven't installed the rear wheels yet, but they should clear everything on the inside fine.
A 4-1/2 to 4-3/4" backspace for the rear will clear the fenderlip and all of the inner parts such as suspension and brake parts. As far as clearence for the front, I may need to do a mockup with an FB strut and a 4-1/2" backspace to see if the wheel clears the strut and spring perch.
Short answer to all of the above BS. A 4" backspace should work if: 1. The springs are stock height. 2. The fender lips are rolled. 3. Run low profile tires, say 35-40 series. You might be able to get by with doing only 2 out of the 3 items, that will take some testing.
