Backpressure sensor...

Help me out here...

I am going to order a RB cat replacement pipe. Do I need to have the backpressure sensor tube hooked up?
How does this sensor affect the motor when the catalytic converter is installed?

BUMP

I'll look harder in my Haynes manual, but that mostly covers older-than-'85 sevens.

It is what opens your 5th and 6th ports, so if you even want a chance of them working still, you need it.

Yeah, i ran without the hose hooked up for a while and eesh... i dunno the difference isn't HUUGE, but it is definetely enough to say, "jeez this thing is runnen a lil rough and underpowered compared to before." I think those were my words... not so long though... not so formal either... couple curses in there... maybe an exclamation point...

Yeah I just found out from someone else that it's quite essential, but I didn't know it opens the ports.

Have any of you heard of American Muffler?
There's a guy that has worked on rotaries and said that they're real good with great prices. Who knows, I'll find out what they say, maybe they have a better idea than Racing Beat.
