It would take me 2 days about 6 hours total. The hardest part is cleaning the carb, and that takes most of the time, that and any mess ups you make.. So yea i'd say thats pretty good.

Rebuilding isnt that hard after you've done it 2-3 times. I can actually rip it apart on the car still and know everything and even set the float messurement. Basic rebuild is hardly anything, but I too will send a carb to sterling for the full mod just because I dont have the ability to jet and bore the crap out like he will do. That $300 will be well spent and insurance of how many carbs you'll destroy, how much hair you'll pull out of your head, or how many engines you'll blow up when its really out of wack for a long time and leans out way too much. Just get your damn car back, pay the guy and dont worry. It took me a month to get my exuast done.. no kidding.

2 days sounds fine. Remember if you're the carburetor guy, much longer working on it, and it's not making him enough money to do the job. Depending of course how busy he is, and how many other jobs he's doing.

Yea it depends. If your doing just a teardown and rebuild like the haynes manual, maybe 5-6 hours to do a good job (3-4 if your know what your doing, I did one like that for pratch cause he needed a quck but good runing carb). If your doing the full monty, like we do on most carbs (total dissasembly, even the shafts and **** come out) then you dont wanna know how many hours we put into these things. And dont get me started on the time spent removing venturis and maching them ( I mean having Sterling machine them).

my first rebuild it took me about 4 hours but now I can have it off and a basic rebuild done in an hour or two. but thats with a really clean carb. on thats nasty as hell I would say a full day in carb cleaner after disassembly then an 30 minutes to get it back together after it has been dried of course. I would think 3 days would be about right depending on saok time and how busy the guy is.

My personal experience with rebuilding my carb was 3 days. I am the only mechanic at the shop. So making money first and playing with the toy second. Probably whats happening........ Unless they have alot of techs without noodles.
