auxillary port sleeve orientation
hello all,
i just installed some pineapple racing auxillary port inserts. i made the mistake of not remembering the orientation of the port sleeves. when i put them back i kind of guessed. can someone provide a diagram or tell me what the open area of the sleeve should point (down, up, etc) or what orientation (8 o'clock and 4 o'clock??). i have electric port actuation (rpm switch and air pump) so know my actuators work but when i stomp on the gas, my car pulls very strong but when it reaches 4k it feels like it falls on its face, the pull is not as strong. this leads me to think that i put the sleeves in wrong. if someone has done this mod please enlighten me. thanks.

FSM has a diagram on orientation, but IIRC they're designed to install only one way, so you can't install them wrong, or the actuator stems won't fit.
If you think about it, the direction the stem rotates when the actuator is compressed is the direction the port sleeve rotates. You want to turn them in such a way that they're open when the stem is fully rotated.

^^^that sounds logical. but i think there is two ways you can put them in, the right way and the wrong way depending on where the port opening is. the problem is i dont know where the port opening is and my engine bay is too tight for me to stick my head in there to find out. if someone can provide a diagram of the port opening or tell me at what orientation the port opening is (12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, etc) i can trace it back to what position i need to line up the sleeve. thanks in advance

the other way is to look at the direction the actuator wants to turn the sleeve, and essentially put the sleeve on the manifold before you put it on the engine.
