automatic choke

I am realatively new to the whole rx-7 experience, so...
I just got a 85 gsl for 850 (GREAT interior condition, and NO rust) odviously its got a manual choke, IS there anyway to put an automatic choke on there, or do i have to replace the whole carb, and if so, how hard is that with all those hoses and stuff. thanx.

They are "automatic". All you have to do is pull it when it's cold and start the car. It will automatically go back in as it warms up if all is functioning correctly.

[smart ***]The only "fully" automatic choke I know of
is the Fuel Injected systems. [/smart ***]

I know. I posted that. However, you still manually have to pull the choke **** at first,

I was being a smart @$$ with the F.I. comment.

I would make the smart *** comment that the choke is "semi-automatic" with our cars I don't even have a choke now, with a weber 50DCO/bridgeport engine which is a rough engine to start with. ITs not so fun to run when cold and you need to feather the throttle for the first 5minutes or so. This can be diffcult when hitting the brakes and the clutch.

I know you were . What he's asking is can you put a fully auto choke on our cars like almost all other carbed cars have. Where it goes on and off automatically, unlike FB's with the **** you have to pull. I wonder how hard that would be? the choke mechanism on my TA is pretty simple little black box attached to the carb. hmmmm.....

Directfreak: The FB has a manual choke. An automatic choke is one that requires no pulling.
