A manual trans ZX2 SHOULD run about 15.7 or so in the 1/4. They have 130hp, an enormously fat torque curve, and they only weigh about 2400-2500lb. (Basically it's similar to a GSL-SE with a weight reduction!) Automatics were a little slower.
Also, intake an exhaust mods usually make the Zetec *LOSE* power unless they parts are carefully researched. So YMMV.
(A friend just got a '99, 5-speed, and we're learning these cars... they are enormously fun cars too!)

i just thought of something. the exhaust shields are different between the auto and manual. i just put shield on w/o paying attention and nearly **** myself when i first moved the car GRIND!!! i don't know if it will hurt anything to leave it off, but i just bent mine. it still makes very light contact, but i didn't feel like taking the exhaust off again.
