as long as they aren't super deep, they should fit. I'm debating modifying underneath the carpet kick panel to fit a larger speaker, actually. I'm also working to get slim 6x9 enclosures to put behind the rear carpet piece right in front of the tail lights.

speaking of which - that reminds me. one of my front speakers gave out. gotta see if it just came unplugged.

The mounting depth on mine are 1-11/16 in.(4.3 cm)

Any deeper than that I don't think will work.

I know you used to be able to get stand off spacers... basically, a ring that was attached then you attach the speaker to it. This would allow you to run deeper speakers.

As for me, I am running some Kenwood Excelons.

I just got some cheap 6x8 or something like that at walmart... They aren't 6x9 but close to it and I just used the spacer and drilled in new holes and mounted them in the back. They seem to work pretty well. I didn't have much of a choice but to find new speakers since all 4 of mine were blown. The front were/are so bad they don't work anymore. I just have not replaced them yet.

Pioneers in mine, all stock locations. I didn't install them myself, came with the car, but looks like a drop in install to me.

if an actual person told u they wouldn't fit don't know what he's talking bout. i have pioneers in mine. as lone as they're no more that like 2" deep they should fit with no problems. u just can't use the grills that come with them. at least no on the drivers side unless u relocate the hood release.

Replaced my 4" speakers up front with new ones from Wally mart and they work
great. Actually pretty good fidelity compared to stock. I then added an AUX
cable to the head unit to plug in my IPOD and for longs drives it can't be beat and
sounds great. Its all still a nice stock look to it as well.

I have an SA, things differ a bit for the FBs.

Kicker in front, Alpine 6x9 in rear, and an 8in sub inside the passenger compartment with an amp running under passenger seat. Sounds friggin' sick.

i did a 6 inch bazooka style sub in mine, i actually did a somewhat detailed post about it and the rest of my stereo junk, also. it kicked really hard for our small cars until i blew it listening to dubstep and metal..... now it sounds like an angry bee at certain frequencies. guess i had it adjusted wrong. oh well.

I ran the amp from one of the storage bins, i bolted it to the topside of the storage compartment so i could still put stuff in it.. when i get home i'll find my post and link you to it.

Awesome Mr. Miles!
metal is pretty much all i listen to... that and hard rock, its just nice to have some extra "feel" to the music. i've got an old kenwood 150w amp i might just hook some speakers up to and hope that gives enough punch to satisfy...
