ATF fluid differences
ATF fluid differences
I'm planning to do the ATF treatment, does anyone know the differences between brands and types?
Most of them say Dexron III, Mercon or Type A...etc etc
Is this safe to use?

The main difference in each is friction modifiers for the clutch packs in auto trannies. You're just interested in the detergent properties for cleaning the valve bodies on the autotrannies. Each should have plenty of detergents. You could care less which friction modifiers are in it unless you're using it in a *****-matic transmission.
can any one give me step by step instructions for the "ATF" treatment. He's talking about the thing were it gets in the rotors and burns all the carbon or somtin. i dunno but i would like to.

But... What's the difference between using MMO and ATF for the treatment? I would imagine the ATF has more detergents than MMO does... And I know that MMO will not foul up the plugs like ATF will...
