Apex1 N1

Alright So i got a racing beat streatabel header on my car running through 2.25' piping and going through a bonez race pipe and a borla pro xs muffler. Now If i take the race pipe off and move the muffler back and throw a N1 on the end will the N1 be able to hold up to that heat? And am i going to sound decent b/c right now i sound like a b16 civic and i hate it

Forget that. add another borla offset/center Pro-XS and be happy (your wallet too)

I originally had no headers, presilencer or anything, just straight 2.5" pipe to a 5Zigen muffler, sounded super raspy like a honda or something. Once I just slapped on my Racing Beat presilencer, it's soo much better. More quiet, and deep, sounds great. But of course I'm going to get rid of the fat can and put on a prima flow RB muffler, with the headers and all.

^^^^^Wimp, I daily drove my S with open RB road race header. Yes it hurt like hell, yes the vibration was an excellent massage, yes the vibration actually rattled critical bolts loose, but it was certainly interesting and highly unrecommended LOL

an N1 would be too loud, and is overly expensive, save for a Sr20 turbo or something, rotary engines are too loud for something like that. Just get the full RB setup, or anouther borla muffler as a presilencer.

Wimp? Perhaps, but i was sick of not being able to hear my stereo!

My new RB setup sounds like a tuned bat out of hell when its opened up and always turns heads in the right direction vs the N1 when people would look, point, laugh and shake there heads, doh!

how do you guys think a RB header, presilencer, 2.5" piping to a HKS muffler would sound?

His sounded pretty good....id say the best sounding honda in town. He had a skunk 2 header with 2.5" exhaust to the HKS muffler.....

I have decided im going to try it either way...it was free lol...once i get the cash for the header, presilencer and piping i will get video of it idling and under full throttle to post up on here.

My experience is that regardless of the RB presilencer,if you run headers on a rotary......its going to be loud. The RB muffler is the ONLY one Ive tried that wasnt loud. And I still run one to this day.
Yes,loud is a matter of prefference, but my way of determining loudness is that if the exhaust is the most prominent noise on the car,its too loud.If you cant hear the engine whirring, the radio playing or have an average conversation while driving, then its too loud.
And,turbos are not always the answer either, when it comes to rotaries. While the S4 manifold does a decent job of cutting down the raspyness, the S5's split runners amplify the noise the same way that headers do on an N/A engine.I have a straight through muffler that I keep for when I want loudness......even with a cat on the car,I barely ever use it!......RB PowerPulse all the way, keeps things civil and legal.

lol

i like racing beat but their a good company but yall praise them way to much for their cost. I just got the header from them and that alone was 300 bucks. If i was to do everything yall told me to do and just go complete racing beat i would have paid around a grand for a exhaust thats waaay to much. I spent 80 bucks on the borla muffler 80 bucks for a bonez pipe and got a presilncer bought and installed for 35 bucks. And i didnt even touch my exhaust. Thats 2" mandrel bent piping everything welded and put on. I never got my fingers dirty

My whole exhuast ended up costing me a lil under 500 bucks. Thats half the price of a racing beat system and i sound AWESOME!! no rasp no rotary sound. I sound like a civic with a cold air going through vtec all the time.

I was jus trying to say that u can get quality work from somewhere else besides racing beat for cheaper.

Damn right Ill praise RB!
Any muffler that can survive for almost 7 years behind a ported, boosted 13B and still meet California noise pollution laws after literally running redhot for 50K miles..... sure as hell gets my nod of approval!
The extra cost has more than made up for itself in the fact that I havent had to buy another muffler for the better part of a decade, and I have not had to pay any noise pollution tickets.

If you like sounding like a Honda, that's not really a good thing. The only Honda
I've ever liked the sound of was an NSX. The RB products will outlast just about everything out there.

Here's the thing. I love my ROTAFLO muff from OZ (rear muff that is, with fat 4" mandrel dumper!) on my Rx2. I also love my full RB streetport setup on my 1st Gen. THe prob is the Rx2 is way too loud due to blown (for the second time in less than 6 months) Magnaflow 4" round mufflers used as presilencers in the middle. I think with the RB all the way to the rear + the Rotaflo would sound and perform killer. Gotta change over the center section, or build my own with the 2nd Gen pre's for a little more flow (large port!) My change.....

Honda stuff = Cheap

Rotary specific stuff = more expensive

Get used to it, if you put a straight through exhaust and a fart can on a NA rotary it is going to sound like loud crap
