Does he have specs of other rotors being drilled, I know there was a special pattern to the outer ones so as the wouldnt crack out to the edge. What all kind of machining can he do, he could make some decent profit if he could make bolt pattern adapters and so on. CP makes some stuff but they seem quite steep on prices anymore and plus shipping from canada.. well thats my thoughts

Also If drilling really helps from warping/keep cool on stock rotors, I dont think thats too bad a price. depends on shipping too.

rotors are pretty heavy for their size so I bet shipping is pretty steep

hes useing the CNC at our college, so he can do most anything you need

as for the holes, to keep it from cracking, im trusting his knowlege to place the outer holes well, hes damn good at machining so i have confidence

only catch is that the insrtuctor wants 25$ a rotor to cover machine wear

when he graduates well see about more things as he is wanting to get into cars more

im getting a rotor with a stripped lug hole for him to test, ill keep you updated

i asked him about it
he said the maching requied to slot is alot worse and would be quite a bit more costly to do

they will warp marginally easyier due to loss in mass

drilling is mostly to help with brake fade

yeah, slotting would be a lot more to program than drilling a bunch of holes and would probably take a lot longer (more tool wear). I would pay $100 to get them sloted and drilled, but a brake upgrade is the last thing on my mind right now
