Question Anyone using the RB oil filter adapter?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anybody is using the Racing Beat oil filter adapter to fit an oil temp and pressure gauge? I have searched, but wanted to confirm that it will take the Autometer senders.

I'm pretty sure the temp sender will fit but I'm not sure on the size of the pressure sender. I'll be using electric gauges.

Thanks in advance,
Christian.

I am using one as well. However, I am not using a oil temp sensor.

I gave the stock oil pressure sender in the stock place on the rear plate, and the adapter for the autometer oil pressure gauge. I blocked off the other outlet.

Setzep - what is that big -AN fitting for? Actually, what is the whole thing for? Looks wierd.

I made it to replace the oil filter pedistal so I can run a remote oil filter. With this "adapter" I made ALL of the oil gets filtered not just the oil that goes through the engine. If you study the rear plate and the stock filter pedistal you can se how the oil that goes through the rear releif doesn't get filtered. I'm going to run a very high quality Donaldson oil filter that will have at least absolute filtering to 10 microns but I may run a better one than that.

The fitting is a -10 male JIC which is the same "AN"

I use the RB adapter with VDO gauges. It works great.

The big hole (3/8" pipe) is for temp and the small hole (1/8" pipe) is for pressure. Heres a crappy pic:

Setzep, that's a nice piece of machining.

Everyone else, thanks for your help. I think I'll order one soon.

Anyone know what the difference is between the pre-1980 version and the later version of this adapter? I know about the incompatability with the oil-water cooler equipped years. My friend is a machinist and we are currently designing an adapter that makes the RB unit look crude by comparison. We also plan to sell them cheaper.

FD Racer - I like the lines you are running. They look like a stainlesss steel sleeve. What is it? Looks good.

Setzep - Sorry Dude, I am totally lost. I don't know exactly how that piece is going to work. Doesn't the filter need to rest where that -AN fitting is? Is it for a Remote Oil Filter? Are there other ports behind (what the picture shows) for gauge senders?

Sorry. I am lost.

I sell a little diff. version of that.....smaller, anodized black, nicer machining.

Also go to ebay, I just put one on there for sale.

I moved into a house at the begining of the summer, and its ate up most of my time, and some ca$h.

The Turbo FB winter project is still a go since I now have a full time garage for my 7

Max- Good to see that you are still around!

Alex- under the fitting is a "Y" that I machined into the aluminum to connect both ports on the rear plate to the port/fitting. Yes I will be running a remote mount oil filter before the aluminum piece that I made. I don't have any external ports for gauges/senders but am thinking of maybe machining in one or two.

Thanks. It's actually nylon wire loom. I got it at Fry's electronics. It comes in at least 3 different sizes, and can expand to accomidate a lot of wire. Heres another pic:
