Is anyone running an external wastegate?

I was wondering if anyone is and if so how? I dont know alot about them and i was wondering if anyone had one. Also I was wondering how many ppl still have the stock TII turbo?

i just dont understand where you would put it? off of the o2 bung? I have an FC turbo so it has an internal one and i was wondering how much boost people were running on the stock turbo with no mods.

The external wastegate I've seen was mounted off the turbo manifold, all the piping went into one main tube that led into the turbo, and along that pipe there was another little side pipe with a flange to where you could mount a wastegate. Just google it.

But as for how much boost people are running, I'm sure you could search that one.

From what I've read, a stock TII turbo is efficient to about 10-12PSi. After that, your intake temps skyrocket.

But like I said, that's just what I read. I'm not turbo... ....yet.

yeah sorry whenever i search i never find what i am looking for but thanks for the help! As far as intake temps, I will be running a front mount intercooler so that should help.

Yeah. I was referring the top mount; so, I'm not entirely sure as to the limits of a stock turbo with a FMIC would be.

I believe it's 14-15 psi, after that it's out of it's eficeicency (sp) range, but some have hit 18. The top pic is the SS Autochrome tubular mani, the lower one is the HKS log style.
