Anyone put in electric locks?

Curious to see if anyone has installed electric locks in their 1st gen. I'd like to have them, wonder what kind to get and the install procedure?

I'm thinking of getting it from kickyride.com. Electronics about $40 and motors about $40.

I just picked up some Harada actuators at a local car stereo shop. About 15 dollers each. Took about an hour a door to install. Didn't add switches just hooked em up to my alarm. All works great!! Good luck.

I recommend SPAL Auto lock actuators.

Much better mechanism, heavy duty, and OEM in many high-end German cars.

The door locks can be had from a ton of suppliers, I usually order them through Micro Ekectronics, or TRC (The Right Connections) I pay about 5 bucks /ea for them... I never ordered the kit, I just got the raw components and hooked them to an alarm...

I have installed door locks in my 85 and 80 when I had it.

Hey Mike-P

Did search on those companies, came up empty. can you provide links, and let me know exactly what I'll need to install a remote keyless door lock(s) on my SE?
Thanks!

I had a set installed at the same time I got my alarm installed. Definately a good thing to do.

No interior switches on these. They're actuator driven. Pull one, it opens the other. Doesn't take much force either - the actuator engages pretty readily and sends a signal to trigger the other. Like I said in the mazspeed thread, the best part is no more holding-the-door-handle-up-while-slamming-the-door action. Since I've replaced my driver side door handle many times, this is something that's going to make my 7 experience even better
