FL anyone with A/C experiance please chime in.

So i took the car took get some frion put in but before the mech. ran the frion thru he ran some test.

he sucked everything out.he tested the unit to make sure that it held pressure or something like that and it did. then we went ahead to add frion but it was not blowing any cold air. the compressor was working fine and the unit itself was blowing it just wasent blowing any cold air.

He said something in the unit was clogged. where would be a good place to start. any help is appriated and i will pay for the right solution.

Sounds like a clogged condenser, or possibly damaged fins on the condenser. It is located in front of the radiator, as mentioned. You can remove the top plate from the rad support to get a better look at it. If the condenser is badly clogged or many of the fins are missing, the A/C cooling performance will suffer greatly.

First, make sure the compressor clutch has engaged.

If it hasn't, the compressor is dead, or one of the sensors/relays/etc is malfunctioning.

If it has, then let it run for a bit and look for icing. If there is heavy icing leading up to one spot, you'll find the plug internal bit.

Make sure the condenser (infront of radiator) isn't blocked with hair/bugs etc that would prevent air from passing.

The mechanic ran a vacuum on the system which pulls all the contaminents out. Then probably a leak test, and then finally a charge.

Are you using R12 or converted to R134a? If it's R134a you'll need more freon than the sticker says for R12.

There is a pressure switch that is up near the firewall in a gen 1 rx7. If the system does not have enough pressure, or if the switch is not connected, the compressor won't switc on.

Also the TX valve can get blocked so gas will not flow.
