Any idea how much hp my car might have?
It's a rebuilt engine from a 79 with less than 100k miles. It has a rb intake, header, and muffler. I'll be installing 10mm wires and 13b spark plugs, replacing the clutch and resurfacing the flywheel soon. It's also got a 2nd gen leading coil and no rats nest. The reason I'm asking is cuz this kid I work with thinks his 92 probe v6 will smoke my 79 powered fb.

I looked it up and his car has 140hp but it looks a lot heavier. It's still got a/c, power seats, sun roof, and I know all the crap in his engine bay weighs swice as much as what's in mine. I think the power to weight is probably about even but he's got an auto and mines a 5 speed and he's convinced that shifting is gonna slow me down. I think I stand a pretty good chance.

ok so when he got off work tonight he was driving his car around the parking lot and even if he smashes the gas the tires wont so much as chirp. he even took me for a ride around the parking lot to show me how fast it was and i honestly wasnt impressed. so i guess we'll see. also is there any kind of break in period for a new clutch or can i throw it in and race?
You should break in the clutch for a few hundred miles especially before
abusing it racing.
My car with the mods shown in my sig gets 134 whp. Thats actually before I
replaced the RE exhaust with a RB SP and the new fuel pump and the
TFIDFIS. I expect its now a bit stronger with these changes but I won't
even hazard a guess as to how much. I do know the torque feels stronger
down low and flatter across the board.

my geo will burn rubber in 2nd on turns... wanna race?
the v6 in his probe is a vulcan, aka ford taurus engine. it'll be fairly even, with him taking you in top speed probably

You weren't making 110 rwhp with stock and you probably aren't now. At the flywheel maybe. But not at the wheels.
Granted his car isn't making the power it used to when it was new, either. Unless he swapped in a KL engine or something...
But yeah, race him anyway. It'll be funny.

I think the FB will take the probe. My FB would take it no prob. I have about the same mods and I'm gutted to bare car. no sterio, striped down dash. I don't see the probe going above 130 mph. My fb will hit 130 no prob, but I always stoped there due to my broken stock suspention and end of spedo, its scary about 100. I even stayed on a stock T2's *** with my fb. just ask barney1omm. now his cars alot faster though. but I have a T2 now also. But FB's the ****.
My next mods are going to be a light weight flywheel, aftermarket clutch, and 4.44 or 4.77 gears I already have a FC tranny. I'm probably going 4.44 since I have a spare turbo and manifold. but first is suspention. and turn signals.
