Any harm in mixing s2 and s3 housings?

I have a good s3 rear housing from an 85 engine, and a good s2 front housing. Any harm in mixing them? The only physical differences I see is the cooling fins and the tiny indentations around the leading spark plug. The exhaust port seems to be in the exact same spot. Measurement wise and all.

They can be used together without issue.
