another oil ?

recently i mmo'd my engine through a vacume line on my 85 se after acouple days it still continues to smoke and after asking a few forum members we agreed that i unsealed some leaks that were self selaed through years of carbon biuld up. So my ? is has anyone used like an oil leak stuff like Lucas oil stabelizer and succesfully stopped a smoking engine with any of those stop smoke products. i already am using 20w 50 castrol oil. what about those high milage oils like castrol has out?

not sure, but one thing to remember, unless your premixing, all that stuff will be going onto the rotors as well.

how bad is it smoking? What color is the smoke? how much have you driven it/let it run?

He used a product called MMO = marvel mystery oil, it lubes up the apex seals and stuff... But if it is your seals that are bad I would just say time to rebuild, doesn't really seem worth it to gunk the engine all up with products that never seem to work very well... Maybe someone can prove me wrong...

Have you taken her out and redlined it yet? Maybe the MMO broke loose a little carbon that is jamming an apex seal. It's a longshot, but might be worth trying before you get too worried about it...

im really bad at getting my point across. what you do instead of pouring it down the carb on a 12a the 13b that i have you just pull a vaccume line off and stick it in the MMO bottle and give the car when its idleing some gas and it will suck in the MMO. but the car never smoked b4 i used the MMO so after a week or so of brisk driving and the smoke is still there mostly during warm up and then after you give it gas the smoke is bluish so its oil my ? is that if any of that stop smoke **** works?

My car used to smoke just like the way you're describing, then I switched to 2 stroke oil and it stopped smoking completely. I have no idea if I actually solved any problems, but at least I can't SEE anything wrong anymore lol

You added the MMO into the intake system? Thats a new one to me. The 13B guys just usually add it in the spark plug holes...

Maybe some MMO got stuck in the intake somewhere and is slowly trickling into the engine...?

I wouldn't put any oil additives into your engine, including oil that already has additives (like Castrol High Mileage). Because the Rotary injects a little oil into the combustion chamber to lube the seals, any additives will get injected as well, and there's no guarantee that they won't leave nasty deposits behind...

You're talking about adding 2 stroke to the gas? That would help with better combustion chamber sealing, and might help...

Nope. My friend (who partly owns my RX-7, I'm going to finish buying it off him when he goes to basic training) and I were contemplating the smoke problem of the car and he says, "hey, why don't we try using 2-stroke oil? Rotaries are meant to burn oil and 2-stroke oil is meant to be burnt, so lets use it and see what happens". Since I'm going to replace the engine this summer anyway I just said what the hell, lets do it. So we replaced the oil with 2-stroke and replaced the filter. It stopped smoking on startup and doesn't spew out smoke at high RPMS, and it seems to run a little smoother too. I haven't seen any bad side effects so far.

Metal wear for one. 2 stroke wasn't designed to handle the kind of work a rotary puts it's oil through.

But, I'm not suprised it doesn't smoke. Any good 'ashless' 2 stroke will burn well and not smoke as much (if at all)...
