Alternator's broke- what 2 replace with?

my 1984 gsl-se 13b efi alternator is pooched... done.. gone to heaven.... someone had mentioned what fits up good - which would they be? I have a wrecker with an 87 and an 88 - supposedly the same, will they fit up, and how much should I pay??? Thanks.

$100 US if unproven, $125 if tested to be good. Email or call the gods at Rotary Performance in Garland, TX for the wiring schematic to splice the alternator wiring into your 1stgen wire loom so that it'll last more than a month.

ya, thats what i figured. wrecker thinks i'm stupid - wants over $450 cdn. I laughed at him - my CAR cost $1100 cdn.

$450... Is that wrecker smoking crack?

You can probably get your old one rebuilt at an auto electric shop for about $50-$100.

Hell, if you really want, I have a spare out of a GSL that works fine, could sell it to you if you want for like $40.

ya, thing is, I want at least a gen2 alternator, because they put out more amps and I've got a nice stereo. he is still braindead, and I will find another donor, i would prefer a 89 w/ low kms. thanks anyway.
