Get a Haynes manual. It's as detailed as you'll need regarding the electrics and how they're routed in the vehicle....

Don't know if the dealer can still order these, but when I got my car I got not only the FSM but also a separate manual labelled "Wiring Diagram" which is specific to the year of the car. The only general part about it is that it covers both the 12A and 13B. It is about 40 pages and has everything you need to know about the wiring including routing for all harnesses, wiring colors, schematics, pin numbers and component locations. I have used this several times and it is absolutely excellent.

Am curious to know how many others have this.

It's wrong if you're looking at the wrong year or car designation. It's always been dead-on for every '79, '80 and '85 I've had to run down wire pathways and color codes for in the past. If the stuff is confusing, you really don't need to be doing it yourself. Get help from an experienced buddy or take it to a shop. The Haynes is all that a shadetree mechanic needs for his electrical routing info...

I was looking at the 85 pages and it said the main alternator wire came from one side yet it was on the other?!?!
