Air filter assembly

Is there another set up other than the blue Mazda one for the stock carb? I would love to use my K&N flow top that I have had sitting around for years, but the stock one isnt 14"

Ya^, basically mazdatrix or RB. I have the RB power pulse hat and love it. THe sound is worth it alone with jsut a stock 7. No attachments for emission vacuum stuff though. If you need emissions, rx7.com is where you would go.

I appreciate the help - so basically the only option is the white racing beat for stock carbs...

The RB unit adds a nice throaty roar under the hood. Really sounds nice. I think the shape of the cover acts like a speaker system to amplify the sound of the air passing through, and give it a nice bass note...

yep^, when you step on the throttle it roars. Just from the filter. pretty much any open filter assembly will make noise. I wouldnt say hp increase though. a little more throttle response though.

I just cut out my factory air cleaner. I cut the sides, leaving metal around the latches to seal the top, so all air still has to pass through the filter. I definitely noticed a more throaty sound, especially when the secondaries open. Can't wait for the Dell and the open air filter!! Woot Woot!!!
