AFR Meter

Helo Guys and Girls.

Do any of you use a AFR meter on your NA Rotaries ?

I`am in the process of fitting one,to help with the jetting of my carb.

Any notes on it ,or suggestions of the air to fuel ratio that i should be running?

Thanks

how can you tell, they read pretty crudely, you really need a wideband for tuning, but with a crab guess a reg AFR would be ok ?

Luckilly it isnt a critical as with Turbo applications!I dont think i`ll be able to blow anything up if i go lean.

I`am going to use it,to get a general idea of how rich it is a wot.The low end and midrange tuning i have got right allready.

Go for it, just make sure you use a good bosch sensor. I use one on my current blow-through setup, and it definately helped.

Now, I am fine-tuning it with the wideband.

I used one in my car while tuning the carb, just kept it consistently 3-4 bars on the rich side to be safe.

It will give you a rough guideline, but only that.

Last night : I finally finished putting in the AFR meter.
Fired up the engine, and was utterly shocked at the reading!

It was showing completely lean @ idle.Only the first led out of 10 was lit.
Now wonder i was having a hard time getting it started when it was hot.

Cant wait to start tuning tonight!

Might just get the old Bridge Port to make some HP!

Make sure you warm up the car first. Most O2 sensors needed to be heated before any accurate readings.

Thanks for the advice!
Its a heated 4 wire bosch sensor i`am using.I gave it about 1 min to warm up,before starting the car.

Is that sufficient ? I`am new to O2 displays..
thanks!
