Adjusting steering gear with power steering

The steering on my ’85 GSL (12a with power steering) is getting sloppy. I would like to adjust the steering gear. I’ve done searches and found stuff on manual steering and about the 40mm and 14mm nut. My car has power steering and doesn’t have the 40mm and 14mm nut. Instead, I only see a 17mm nut around an adjustment screw on top of the steering gear box. How do I go about adjusting the steering gear? Are there any other adjustments I can make?? Thanks.

Matt, you can adjust the nut on top of the steering gear. It may or may not have any impact. According to BobRx, the internal adjustment that is done on the manual box (I've done it, it is truly amazing) does NOT carry thru to the power steering.

I have 2 SE's and one with power, one not. I'm unable to adjust my steering on the power box for the above reasons.

The best of my knowledge is the answer you (and I) are looking for just isn't available.
