Its done with a 91 Per-Port , Microtech , throttle body, Gun-drilled axles, Mark williams 9 inch diff, g-force tranny..i think..... Jesus P has more experiance and years with rotary engines than 98% of rx7club members.

There is a real misunderstanding of how drag racing works on this board..Everybody is so inclined to find horsepower to make their car go fast..sometimes its not just horsepower that makes rotarys go

More important is what we call in spanish Combinacion or in english Combination. Also 60-330ft and 8th mile times.

Padilla knows tranny gearing, rear-end gearing, weigth transfer, tourq curves in relation to gearing etc..and those things are not ordered from summit..they come from experience

Where did you get this from anyway? It doesn't sound right to me. Not trying to disagree, just curious.

400 hp is the area.... but I have some doubts on this (www.prestige.com) formula..

For instance FLaco racing just ran 6.8 with a 1.09 60ft..
Bam-bam Racing miata from Puerto Rico runs 1.1 60ft but at 8.55 ET.
Flaco is turbo ...bam-bam is P-P + gene berg 58mm with a fogger setup.. ..so then a properly geared car with the a good launch can see simmilar 60-330 ft times and close 8th mile times thus one having 500+ more horsepower than the other....

I understand that theis websites formulas are based on math+physics but et #s don’t lie!

Anyone videotape it? I'd like to see that run. And show it to my co-worker who drives a Ford F150 Lightning.

I don't think kilo really worries or even cares about what his car dyno's at. I think the only thing that him and most people I know down in the Orlando/Kissemee area are concerned with is what makes their car go down that 1/4 mile faster.

I see in the future rotaries being totally banned from all sportsman drag racing. I bet with a good 20B, he could go into the high 7's with that car. If he's doing high 9's with a 13B, then the 20B would be FAST! Rotaries are already banned from some classes. Not sure which ones, but there are a few. I think one might be Pro Outlaw RWD. They can use turbos in that class, and a 20B PPort with a big single turbo would do easy low 7's.
I thought they already had him running ballast in the car too. That was what I read in one of the last Summit catalogs when they did an article on the rotary.

Calculating from 2100lb, I get 425 crank HP from ET and 377 crank HP from MPH.

The HP calculators out there measure FLYWHEEL hp not WHEEL hp. Chrysler engineers came up with the formula in the 50's or 60's and they didn't care about wheel HP. Anyway, the formula starts to lose accuracy (reads optimistic) as you get into things like good slicks and launches (which is why ET is more than MPH) and when you get into things like full race trannies with close ratios and no-lift clutchless shifting (does he have one of those drag trannies, or is it a generic dogbox?).

SO I see it as fully believable.

from the searches ive made, Jesus 20b pp 3 barrel weber powered car was making somewhere arround 475hp

a pp 13b *could* make 380-400 if its purpose was to make 6 runs then get rebuilt.

this Padilla have serious skills.

Every calculator I have seen uses the same formula, which is the one Chrysler engineers worked out 40-50 years ago for calculating FLYWHEEL horsepower.
