88 N/A OMP in SE front cover

I got my hands on an 88 GXL for free. The motor is good so I'm planing to swap it into my fb. I did a bit of looking through the forums and think i've got everything figured out except the Metering pump.

88 is when they switched to the electronic unit, correct?

If so will this fit in the SE front cover, or what will I have to do to make it work?
Would it be easier to just make a custom mount instead of swapping the front cover?

88 should be mechanical. not sure if the are interchangable on the front cover or not, but you should be able to use the se omp with the gxl linkage and oil lines.

So the SE front cover and OMP will fit without modifying?

Will the N/A s4 fit the 12a transmission? What clutch/flywheel do I use?

The only difference between the S3/S4 MOPs is the size of the hole for the MOP rod, S4 is larger in diameter and there is a slight diference in the cc output.

As long as both clutches are 225 mm and you keep the flywheel appropiate for the engine, it will fit.

The 84-85 GSL-SE oil metering pumps and the 86-88 n/a pumps are identical. They are so identical that they have the same Mazda part number: N246-14-600
You won't have any trouble using the 88 OMP on the SE cover.
