85 12a in a 83 gsl question.

Just dropped a motor in my 83 gsl and the wiring harness is slightly diffrent. Can someone post a pic of the harness that plugs into the oil pressure and engine temp. They seem to be in different areas on the 85 and that harness doesnt work. I'm thinking I can splice the wires up if I knew where the plug into on the 83 model. Everything else is the same. Thanks!

yea the rats nest is gone. I have the wires that connect to the sensors from an 85 already attached but the connector part is missing and different on the 83.

The enigne wiring harness is different on the 83. On the 85, it comes through the firewall on the pass side whereas on the 83, it comes through on the driver side. The plugs should be the same unless you happen to have an early 83 which may have the plugs from the 81-82 cars. You will need to cut and splice an 81-83 big plug to the rest of your 85 harness. You COULD also buy an 83 harness. Only for 83 though. The earlier years have a different alt plug along with a few other variances. Good luck.
