I agree, even the slightly tired LSD I put in my car from a junkyard GSL made a big difference. Of course one season of Solo II pretty much wore it out, so now I need to rebuild it. :P

What had to be done to install the kaaz? what car is it made for, they don't make one for a fb right? And yea LSD and disk brakes in the rear make a big difference, I could never drive a open diff drum reared car again, they suck.

The 1.8L miata kaaz fits the large axle fb carrier.
Personally i went w/ the 1.5 lock up. It really helped out my high speed stability. Its worth every penny. I burned through stock lsd's in a couple months. I've had the kaaz for 1.5 yrs with out any problems, never hesitates to lock up.

Actually on a fast flowing track weld equals fast, but tight corners do induce understeer and by the way it's illegal, annoying and a PITA on the road....squeak, squeak, squeak.

Don't laugh the pumpkin is cheap to replace and that's how you learn. I've run a welded diff until I could afford an LSD, it was something just dont do a U turn in front of the cops.

More like any corner no turn in what so ever, more harm to the rest of the drivetrain, suspension, and one day its going to break.
At worse case by a stock lsd, i have 3 stock ones just collecting dust as a back up.

weldings illegle
the jy's are askin to much for a old lsd from a gsl around here each one wants at least 300big ones
so i see welding a qwick fix since i havnt found one locally
actually if i drop the clutch at a green light i allways go sideways with a open diff usally turning aswell and thats 1st and second so a lsd would be killer but only for a track it may be a lil problem in traffic "i have a lead foot from my old car "
do the lsd tend to jolt when going very slow?

i have a LSD but call me stupid, a open works better in auto-x, tighter cornering.

I did the LSD swap and i liked it a lot more... Havent try it in auto-x yet, when i had the open diff for auto-x... the inner wheel gains power and make the car wants to weave around.

I just did an AutoX with an open diff. Couln't keep the inside rear tire from spinning in the corners. No way to put any power down until I straightened up coming out of the corners. I may be able to fix some of that with heavier swaybars, but lsd is what I really need...

I have driven a few 240sx's with them, and compared to a kaaz horrible, or a stock lsd for that matter.
Everyone i know that welds them breaks the diff after a few months.
