Yes it is very easy, they bolt right in. The holes are all there for the mounts, except possibly seatbelt mounting holes. (this information is also available using the "search" function)

thanks, as you might see under thread "83 GSL for my son?" I just bought the car this morning, it's turns out to be an 84. I have two smaller kids 8 and 10, that it would be nice if they had somewhere to ride. Even at 5'8" I think if I ever got back there, they would have to bury me it the car, I don't think I could make it out). I"ll start looking for some seats. Will 2nd Gens fit?

Thanks,
Blueraven

One average size person can fit back there ok. If you sit sideways with your feet on the other side of the hump it's not that bad. Two rhesus monkeys or small kids would be comfortable. FWIW, it is easier to sit in than my old BMW 8 series back seat. The original stock seats are not very common in the US but you can find them more readily in the UK or Australia or (presumably) Japan. Someone recently posted they had adapted seats from another car (240 sx??) to fit, but don't know what it looked like. Again, use the search function and you can read and possibly ask that person about it. Two things to consider are you lose the storage bins and the car will be slow with stock engine and the weight of extra people, especially since it is automatic.

Don't put seats in back, if you do then you gotta take the kids.

2nd gen seats will not fit.

Your best best is to check junkyards.
That's there I found mine.

Just be sure to get the mounting hardware for it...

FB Back Seats

I got a back seat for my '85 from some company in California that specialized in RXs, but it has been many years ago. Whoever posted about only monkeys being able to fit back there was absolutely right.

Yes i was at school and some broad with her nasally voice said "why do you only have two seats?" So i replied, So i don't have to drive bitches around. Now it wasn't directly related to females, but i think she got the point and i got a laugh out of it.

My mom had backseats in her '84 GSL when I was a kid. Actually, she had them installed several years after she got the car, when she was pregnant with my little sister.

Seemed plenty roomy to a 7 year old

And it was better than option B... Selling the car... unfortunatly, she had to sell it a few years later anyway, when we moved...
