It's very easy just get the car up in the air. Take off the steering wheel and the turn signal and wiper stuff. Then unbolt the box and it basicly come out. Give or take a few other little things but its very easy.

good luck man, I changed/rebuilt mine when I had the motor out, I dont see it being easy with everything in the way. Id say the AC will have to come off, the battery and battery brack, the radiator and probally the condenser. Also dont forget the bolts that attach the steering column to the underdash. Once you get everything loose , you can slide the black column cover off the steering box, will slide out from inside the cabin. It will make it way easier to move to the left or the right. And I tell you it was a pain in the ***, I dont see it being very easy with the motor in

ok, you don't need to pull all of that stuff out. Get the car up in the air, pull off that shield underneath, and use a tie rod end press to get the joint off the pitman arm. After you have taken off your steering wheel, signal crap, and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR KEY ON (the key lock will prevent the shaft from sliding out if you don't have it on), you can un-bolt it and slide it down. It is tight, but you can do it without removing the A/C.

BTW, disconnect the battery before doing this!!!

It's done, I had to unbolt the ac though to do it.
The new one is much tighter
