79-85 Slave cylinders - differences?
Between 79-85 there are 4 different slave cylinder part numbers listed. If the trannys are swapable, then I was wonding what differences are there that would cause there to be 4 available slave cylinders?
or is it something about the master cylinders?
of which there are 4 aslo.

As far as I know, the '79-'80 units are the same and have the same thread pitch all the way down to '71 and possibly earlier. I'm sorta currently looking into slave cylinders at the moment for my MG.
I have a '74 and '79 that are both dead and are soaking in WD40 at the moment. There is some rust in the bores so I'm not sure if either one is reusable.
All I know is that I can't use from '8x up because the thread pitch changed. I gotta stick with '74-'80ish.

AFAIK there are only two RX-7 slave cylinders - '79-80 and '81-85, the only difference being thread pitch. (Likewise for master cylinder and the flex hose)
Maybe there are four numbers because you have the option of new part or remanufactured?

i know of 2,
fa01-41-920: fits 81-82 and 84-85 gsl-se
fa42-41-920: fits the 83-85 12a
the fa42 has the bleeder screw coming out at a different angle so its easier to bleed with the oil cooler right there.
so thats 3
79-80
81-82, and gsl-se
83-85

I guess the important thing I'm looking at would be the mounts and the bore sizes. It doesn't seem like those changed. With the exception of the -SE slave, I should be able to go with any one. My tranny is a '79, with the '80-84 B2000 mazda truck shifter extension housing.
I'm installing a Tilton aluminum pedal assembly. The short pedals will have a ratio of 5.5:1. The line from the slave to the master has to be custom made anyways, so the thread pitch isn't a worry to me. I was thinking of starting off with a 1" bore for the clutch master.
Total cost for parts is roughly $400.
The Wilwood and Tilton masters look exactly the same and I heard also sourced from the same supplier.
Tilton outlet is AN-3 male.
Wilwood is 3/8-24 UNF-2B THD.
Questions?
- Are those outlets the same?
- Do any of the RX outlets matching these?

No they are not the same, and no the Mazda stuff isn't either one of those.
If an -SE slave won't work then NO 1st-gen slave will work - they're all the same dimensionally/bore sizes.
