GA 79-83 Plastic Dash Cap?

Has anyone ever put one of the plastic dash caps on their 79-83 dash? How do they look? My dash is cracked beyond repair, and I am not having good luck finding a good replacement dash, so may have to go this route...any input greatly appreciated.

i put one on my 83. if done well it looks stock. but then i bought an 82 gsl that had one on it and it was sun cooked and it warped. That said, if put on and not left to sit out in the sun they will look really really good.

Thanks for the info. You wouldnt happen to have any pictures of yours would you? Just curious as to where it fits to. Car will be in a garage 95% of the time, so hopefully the sun warping it wont be an issue if i go that route. Thanks!

The one on the 82 i had had been on there for like 6 years with the car parked outside. I'm sure you wont have an issue at all. Ill try to dig up some pics, if not, ill take some later. My dash isnt installed yet (was, then got uninstalled lol)

also there is a virtually clear tint folks are putting on their windshields to cut the UV's and associated heat protecting the dash and interiors

They can repair it, but its cost prohibitive....$1050.00 plus shipping. Thanks for the link though

After buying the dash cap several months ago, I finally installed today. The installation was easy and am happy with the results. The fit was not perfect due to warping of the original dash but I don't think most folks would notice that the dash has been covered.

Yes, I bought it from Quality Care Interior. Comes in 21 different colors in case you don't want black.

if you trim the warped part of your old dash before you put the new dash cover on it helps with the fit. thats what i did to mine. i took my dash out though so it was a little easier
