7" round -> H4 headlight conversion?

Has anyone on here looked into this setup? I've seen a few setups on ebay that are basicaly a housing that replaces the standard 7" round bulb, and allows you to use the normal H4 bulbs..

So... Does this work?

examples;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

I have a set of the dual projector beam lights for a miata that I've been looking at converting to use on the 7 (sleepy eyes) but I don't really care for that look, but I'd like brighter lights..

Thanks!

Eric

I bought the real deal years ago. Hella 7" round with the european lenses which have a +very+ effective light pattern. 60/55 watt bulbs. if i were to do it again i'd go with 100/80 bulbs.

I have the H4 kit now, looking at converting to HID.

They have kits on Ebay for about $350, anyone try one of these yet?

I tried looking for these a looooong time ago and ended up finding a kit that was around $150, which doesn't sound like the kit you're describing in one of the previous headlight threads. Would you happen to have a Bosch part number or anything that would tell me a little more about this kit? I'm very interested..thanks.

Yea, more info would be nice. I had a set of the cheap ebay conversions (with ricer bluish bulbs) in my car for a year and half, they were better than stock but still kinda sucked. About 2 weeks ago a rock flew up and destroyed one, so now I'm using the stock ones again, man they suck.

go for eurospec lights. white light = easier to see than yellow light.

im using the cibie lights, and this is where i bought them: http://www.cibielights.com/

huge difference from stock. Definatly worth the 100 bucks.

(this should be in the FAQ)

I've read some less than favorable reviews about the "diamond-cut" lights, and also the Autopal lights.
I'd stick with the well-known names like Hella, Bosch, and Cibie.

Sorry, it was over a year ago - it cost aboot $90 CDN and came with the reflectors & lenses, rubber seals to keep moisture out of the back, and a set of bulbs.

Came in a Bosch Yellow box with red trim and a clear window showing the lenses/reflectors and the boxed-up bulbs.
