I have seen under your hood, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if I saw a picture of the leaf blower stuck in there.

I do have to admit though. I love the batman fan you got in the engine bay. That thing looks like you found the batmobile in the junkyard.

I tried the leaf blower thing, i got boost leak out the seams of the leaf blower. I couldn't find a place to put it so i could close my hood either.

I should clarify it wasn't a serious installation, merely a "myth buster" expirement.

Idk I think you could mount the leaf blower in the hatch, and have an intricate system of ducting into the engine bay, if the leaf blower is gas powered you could run a sperate line off of the engine fuel line, and an exhaust pipe out of the hatch also....

damn thats scary, actually creativly speeking i think theres room for two under thje front of bumber which conveniently is where the airfilter is now huh,

btw the fan is from a supercuope ford tbird 89-96, or cougar xr789and 90 only, mine was 90, and any thing with the rx7 xr7 has to be cool.any way the fan rocks, 2 speed , literally fits rad perfactly, and was desighned to co 240 horse and 320 torque, good fan

Jeez Dankus I thought you were serious. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my hood closed.

take the motor and stuff and make a custom piping to the intake and mount the blower motor somewhere under the front bumper. and if its electric run it off a switch and get a better battery. you'll sound like a mack passing everyone and people will be asking you to honk for them.

I had a 1989 Chevy S-10 blazer 4.3 v6 supercharged with an electric leaf blower. I had it wired through a power converter and totally sealed with pounds of duct tape. after putting in bigger throttle body jets so the mix wouldnt be too lean, the car had a definate boost. I wired a switch up for on/off and it was awesome. With my mods the car was 0-60 in 7.3 w/o boost. With boost it was o-60 in 6.9. Thats proof. Tested with a stat tester.

In theory it should work. A general leaf blower pumps out about 400-500 CFM of air. The carb is a 400 CFM stock is it not? So, saying that Mazda left some breathing room in the carb, the engine takes in 350 CFM of air at 7000rpm. So, in theory, even if you only get 50 CFM of air extra into the engine, you would get approximately a 14% increase in power.

This is in no way technical, and all the numbers are just out of my head. So this may or may not be true, but if what elvisjer said is true, then this theory could also be true.

Yeh but you have to ride with the hood up. This was not one of Dankus' best ideas.

He was joking after all. Its just a theory, but if you could get a leaf blower under the hood, it should work.

Rotary engines are wonderful free flowing air pumps. Often, these electric superchargers do not have the volume to creat actual boost. Personally, I wouldn't waist my time with this crap. If you want boost, get serious and make it!! Otherwise, I would spend my time and money on useful parts for my car....

remember guys it was supposed to be a joke! but just for the record ray , ive got my intake plumbed out in front of the radiator, so they wouldnt be "under the hood" they would be behind the front bumber, i think theres room for two, and why woudnt they suck start from the air moving through to carb , wire the throttles open on both blowersand hook a switch up to activate leaf blowers at WOT , wait wait wait gotta let this go!

I had you covered from the get go on that one trevor. Afterall, if you were serious, you'd be replacing the 12A with a set of leaf blowers hooked directly to the tranny for a significant horsepower boost.
