First off, Stock 12a motors are 4 port.(USDM)
Second, Stock 13b turbo RX-7's are 4 port.
Third, NA 2nd Gen 13b S4/S5 RX-7's are 6port
So the 12a 6port you speak of is something I have not heard of, not impossible, just not heard of in my short time in the Rotor scene.
I would stay away from it just because is sounds alittle wonky.

Pic's of this setup would be very nice, both sides of the motor so we can see the rotor housing stamp and the intake side so we can see the LIM/UIM and turbo manifold.

Cheers

Later 12AT engines were 6P. As far as I am aware, only the 12AT was offered with the 6P option, as far as 12A's go.

I thought 12ATs were 4-port, and that 6-port 12As were a European thing. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

pics or it didnt happen!

the 84-85 rx7s in japan were available with a 6 port NON turbo 12a, or the 4 port turbo 12a.

europe got basically the 79-80 us motor but with bigger exhaust ports, +10hp

I thought the cosmo or luce had a 6P 12AT? Seeing as I ain't in Japan, I haven't laid eyes on any 6P 12A's. I've heard they exist, and was under the impression they were turbo and FI.
I don't know if the 6P 12A was offered in non turbo or turbo. Like I said, it was only going from what I have seen printed elsewehere. Since it has been a while, I could easily be mistaken.
All I know for sure, is we got the 4P 12A, while other parts of the world got the higher HP versions.

6 port 12a is carburated. ive owned one, and tried to get parts for it.

turbo is 4 port and efi.

euro 12a has larger exhaust ports, those housings were all the rage in the early 90's +10hp

Like I said, USDM was 4 port only, other markets are a mystery.

I've heard that 12AT were both carbed or FI, depending on model. I have seen pics of a carbed many times, but cannot recall ever seeing any 12AT with FI factory. Just because pics aren't available, doesn't mean they they don't exist, though.
Like I said, I thought the cosmo/luce 12at was rumored to be FI and possibly 6P. I know the carbed 12at was a 4P design, at least every one of them I have seen pics of were.....
It doesn't really matter, I'd love to have any variety of a factory 12AT, in good shape.

Are you sure the ones you've seen were carbed? The EFI throttle body looks similar to a carb.

I've seen the 6 port 12A's and they are carbed with a black air cleaner assmebly that states "Six Port" on it. The 12A Turbo's from the factory are EFI with an Orange charge pipe, orange plug wires, and orange fan. I don't know whether or not they are 4 or 6 port, but I would imagine 4 port

The 12A turbo has a throttle body that looks like a carb.
