5 Lug conversion

I'm sure this has been addresed before, but what are the options for
converting an 85 GSL with front and rear disks, to a 5 lug pattern?

Thanks

I looked at that site, and from the pictures, It looks like the adapters are
bolted on to the rotors with only 3 bolts!! That seems a little dangerous
to me.

Has any one tried these?

Thanks

Look at the wheel stud bolts used on the first gen they come loose on their own. It cant be any worse than that.

Look closer. One of the new studs matches one of the 5 lug bolt holes. On of the studs is much longer because it goes all the way through the spacer and is one of the actual new studs in the 5 lug conversion. The other 3 have their own dedicated bolts since they don't line up with any of the other new studs. When the wheels are bolted on, all 4 original studs are holding the adapter on. it is perfectly safe.

Thanks to thafox, For pointing me in the right direction,
and RotaryGod for calming my fears of wheels falling off
the car.

RotaryGod, if your interpretation of the photo is correct,
then I would have no problem using the adapters, I
just saw three bolt holes, and had visions of the adapter
bolts snapping off under load.

I want to go with some 16 inch wheels, and these look
just the thing.

anyone know what wheel offset and what 16 inch tire
sizes I should use?

Thanks

Chuck E.

2nd Gen suspension

I was curious about that myself, would be cool especially if you could get the
power assisted rack

Probably would require a super computer to get all the geometry correct.

Plus if i remember the rear suspension in a Gen 2 is of a different design.
would probably require some MAJOR fabrication.

so has any one done it?

Put up a HOW TO

Well another one gets tired of 4 lug, I can't blame you.
I can offer this about CP racing, I have no problem with the products as a few of my friends have bought things from them from both the CP website and from Ebay, where they sell alot of their stuff. One problem, be prepared to go grey waiting for your item to get to you, we waited 3 months to get a Triangulated strut bar from them and any other things my buddies have gotten took over a month, but look at the Ebay reputation they have, many people have gone through the same long wait. Other than that the wheel adaptors seem alright, if you do a web search there are some other small "racing product" companies that manufacture and sell the same item, out of the same material and all so it can't be to bad or else we would here and see more posts about that kind of item, right.

Reagarding the 2nd gen suspension, anything is possible if you have the money, but I don't think trying to get the whole suspension setup from a 2nd gen on to a 1st gen is practical. There are a handful of site's that provide info on adapting 2nd gen wheel hubs, to give you a 5 lug setup, and also how to adapt the brakes and everything else that sits in your face when you pull a wheel off.
