4agze blower on a 12a

How's it going everyone?

Does anyone know if the toyota 4agze roots type blower would be ideal to put on a 12a? They're pretty cheap so i was thinking of doing that instead of a turbo conversion and also coz it is something different... well i haven't heard of it before, maybe you guys have.

Cheers,
Mat

Also... before I forget, i need a new exhaust, my current one is just a stockie. What size is idea for a 12a?

either way it would take loads of fabrication to even fit on the 12a.. let alone work properly

nope not good...

even for the 4AGE those superchargers are way small, those are ok for 160hp -180hp you can get that just by porting alone.
Get one from a 6 cylinder or go turbo.

for exhaust go 2 1/4 to 2.5 inch, racing beat header or mindtrain.

good luck in your project.

4agze blower

yes, that blower is off the 1st gen mr2's. i can also get a blower off a toyota 1geu engine (6 cyl.) but i heard the 4agze one is bigger... doesn't make sense, i haven't actually compared them myself. Is there any particular type of extractors i should go for... i have just come from a 4cyl. and i know you can get 4-2-1 and 4-1 but what's the deal with extractors for a rotor?
cheers,
mat

for exhaust, check out Racingbeat.com

there quality is unparralleled, and they have full engine to bumper exhaust systems.

I had a RB exhaust before I started my TII engine swap.

You need a blower that'll produce the boost you want for TWO 12as! Remember- the rotary fires twice the displacement of it's piston counterpart (...or more correctly stated, piston engines really only fire 1/2 there claimed displacement per revolution.).

I have done the math extensively, and found that even the Eaton M-62, which is a one liter displacement roots, is too small to give anything over 5 psi to a 12a.

Do a search for "Eaton" here, and it'll puke up all my old posts where everyone contributed to doing all the math.

I will be using an Eaton M-90 (1.5 liter blower) from a Thunderbird Supercoup. Got it off Ebay, rebuilt by a certified bullshiter (mechanic...whatever ) Great shape! -$400.

EVERYTHING will have to be fabricated! EVERYTHING!

I have a machine shop at my disposal, and will fabricate all brackets, the plenum, ect. Depending on how it all goes, how long it takes to remove all the bugs and design flaws, and profitability, I may be offering a kit where I manufacture (in limited quantity) the plenum, carb box, and brackets as a kit. The buyer finds his own Eaton M-90 and intercooler. He also supplies his own piping.
This would NOT be a bolt on kit- it would require ALOT less fabrication, however.
The total cost would be much less than the Atkins offered Camden kit, for a much better blower WITH an intercooler!

Time will tell. Right now I'm up to my neck modding Nikki carbs, and casting sterling silver Rx-7 badges.

BTW if anybody wants a used RB muffler for $160, only about 6 months old, can provide pictures. It was not working with my bridge.
