48 IDA fuel return set up

48 IDA fuel return set up

hi all, im going from a 45dcoe to a 48ida and want to run the fuel return with this i currently have the regulator set before the carb at 3.5 do i just run a t on the inlet of the 48 for the return?

5psi and below, no need for a return
Above 7psi (holley blue or F/I pump), add return line.

facet red top with petrol king regulator 1 - 5psi
what about vapor lock already had this a couple of times which is why i wanted to rn a return

OIC. You can add a return on the regulator OR use an orig nikki carb fuel inlet fitting with a return.

Your fuel pressure reg should be set at 3.5 -4 psi if it's flooding something is wrong with your fuel pressure reg. I run a holley blue with the crappy holley regulator and no return and mine has never flodded. check your float settings they might be off. if you insist on a return get s good regulator with a fuel return built into it like the malory 4309

when the fuel in the line gets too hot, forming bubbles or evaporating instead, basically blocking fuel flow.....happened to me out at Palmdale Raceway once.....damn Holley!

Without a return, it is fuel backing up basically until it reaches the bowl...with the return, there is a complete circular flow, which aids keeping cool fuel in the line and also relieves pressure on the pump, making it run cooler and longer.

thanks all yes no problems with flooding car runs great just looking to change the set up when i go 48IDA
so basicly i need to upgrade the regulator cool
