Smile 48 dhla

i am running a 48 dellorto dhla on my stock port w/exhaust on my 85 se and cant figure out why its running lean when i jump on it and rich when its idling. I just had a 40 idf on it and did the same thing and was thinking it was the floats, the idf had a crack in the float the plastic piece so i change to the 48 dhla and is doing the same but have checked everything on it before putting it on. The carb is a set-up of racing beats and havent chneged anything on it Can someone help me please. ty

are you sure the carb was originally setup for a stock 6 port 13b?

Pull the jets out and compare them to the gruntled web site to see if you still have the original RB jets in there.

If you feel that its running lean, then use a differnet emulsion tube.

If engine bogs when you floor it, at a low rpm, that is common with 2bbl carbs and rotary. Smaller chokes help out but reduce airflow potential. 4bbl helps too

With my dellorto's, I am used to it.

Also verify fuel pressure with a good gauge. That can be the root of many problems.
