4 port 13b's
4 port 13b's
ive started looking at junkyards for a motor for my 85 gs. i was remembering someone telling me about how you can take the side housings from the 12a and use the 13b essentric shaft, rotors, and rotor housings and make your own 4 port 13b? is this true? how hard would it be? would be be better than having a 6 port 13b? can someone shed some light on this for me?
There was a thread on this not long ago, yes you can use 12a irons to make your own 4port, but you had to use the right parts because the water seals were moved in different years. I don't remember what years they did this, maybe someone else can chime in with the info on hand.
U'll have to stay with year model enignes to '85. '86 and later moved the seal groves from the rotor housings to the side housings. '84-'85 GSL-SE engine with 12a irons will give u what ur looking for.
