I have been trying to source a good local GSL rear, and I have finally decided to just go with the rear end upgrade from Grannyspeedshop.

they have mopar and ford 9in bolt in axles for like $800.

not bad, and there bulletproof.

I would say the axles are weakest, then the spider gears, then the ring and pinion.

My left rear GSL-SE Axle is bent, and leaks fluid out of it, even with new seals!! It happened my 1st time at the 1/4 mile strip, with just drag radials.

With regular street tires, there is no grip, so you won't break anything, you'll just roast the tires.

I am in the process of putting a Ford 8.8 in there, because I do want to runs full slicks at the track, without having to worry about "babying" the car off the line.

Yeah, I've always heard that the axles break first.

I have a quick question. What size tire will give me the best traction without going too wide with a ported S4 13B? The engine was dyno'd at 150hp BTW. I'm thinking about going with a 225 in the rear.

Jeff, that's what happens when you have an oversupply of Mazda bits and an undersupply of beer.

peejay, you're actually very correct. I do have lots of Mazda parts and no beer.

Steve, the pic doesn't do the paint color justice. My friend called it the pumpkin. As for the rearend, and the rest of the car, I'll leave it as-is untill it breaks.
