2000 posts, New rotors, and pads, soon to order rims!

Hey guys,
well I have finally hit 2000 posts...

But anyways my new brake rotors arrived yesterday in the mail. I didn't expect much when I ordered these (from ebay... I know I know....). I was going to just get plain rotors, until I found out that these suckers were actually quite a bit cheaper... I ordered these from *rotorworks* on ebay. Here is a few pictures.

But once again, I know I should have gotten plain rotors, but it will be interesting to see how these hold up. But anyways in the rear im installed Hawk HPS pads and I have some crappy pads for up front (im going to order another set of HPS's.).

And I am hoping by the end of the week I can place my order for my CCW's!

Well they claim they are just upgraded stock rotors, which I don't believe. There is no brand printed on the rotors themselves... So I really couldn't tell you, and looking at there site, www.rotorwork.com didn't answer much either lol.

I went to hawkperformance.com, to find the brake pad # for the GSL-SE. Then I ordered the pads from Summitracing.com.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

$48.95, note that these are the rears for a GSL-SE I linked to.

Here is a couple of installed pictures (rear), please ignore the rust, its going to need some serious attention soon... And before anyone asks I actually don't have the jackstand touching this point under the car, that was just incase it decided to fall.

Looks real nice.

In case you don't know, the jack stand should be under the frame, a little bit more forward and inboard.

Will you be able to see those through the rims???

Ya i know the jack should be placed differently, I just didn't have the car high enough for the stand to go all the way in. I just figured I would rather have the car land on that jackstand rather than my legs if it fell...

But I think the brakes should be visable against the contrast of the black face of the rims, we will have to see, it might look REALLY sweet... Well I am confident that the black face, chrome lip will look stunning on this car.

Well then, it's time to hit that high temp caliper paint and dress up those calipers!

Well then, if you're looking to hide, you want silver to match the rotors.

No bumpstops? I was kicking myself when I put my rear end back in and noticed one of them got knocked off and was sitting on the floor. It wasnt bad to put back in, but I only did because I thought it was important. Do we not need em?

I don't remember what spring rate, but they are the RB springs. No bumpstops but I figured that im not going to be able to bottom these damn things out because they are so stiff. And I would use black to paint the calipers to have a nice contrast back in there, but I dunno, at the moment I don't really feel like doing it lol.

Well, you are partially right. Before the springs full compress, you will blow out your shocks, trim your bump stops 1/2-3/4" and put them back in, or plan on buying shocks, frequently.

hmmm, thanks for the tip, I just figured there was no way in a million years the spring would compress that much...
