Exclamation 20 Year-old Plastic in Need of Help!

I aligned some of the body panels already, but they need to be banged out a little more. The biggest problem I am running into is the damn plastic bumper covers!

My front bumper doesn't sit evenly on the aluminium mount and is so off that it's sucking the right corner light in!

My back is almost as back, though I've been thinking of just taking it off and welding a sheet so the end looks streamlined...

I figured you guys must have had the same problem, I just was hoping for some advice on how to even begin to address the problem. The sheet metal I can do, its this damned plastic that's driving me nuts!

The ends of the bumper covers snap into clips that are mounted to the fenders. If you're missing clips, or they are broken, you need to start there, along with a little more fender straightening.

Yeah, the sheetmetal need sto be bumped a little. Is there a way I can just use metal retaining clips to replace those stupid plastic ones? and what about where I would find these at? HomeDepot? Kragen? AutoZone... I don't want to spend too much having to order them. Though to get a new OEM fender cover is like $550 X.x

The clips are cheap. They bolt to the fenders. those should help hold the bumber skin nice and close. Take off your bumper and see if she's lined up. Take some pictures and load em up. Alright team......... Break!

If your clips are missing or broke, post a WTB in the 1st gen parts section. If you really need them, I can pull a couple off of my spare fenders. PM me for a price.

From what I can see, you will need to pull the fenders to get them properly straighted. I'm guessing that the right signal lense is sucked because the sub-bumper is bent.

Looks like the car has been in an accident at some point. If so, you may never get everything lined up, without taking it apart to do the job right. Cheap bodywork leaves lots to be desired down the road.

My stepdad crashed it into a ditch before I got it. Most of the frame was straightened and after working on the sheetmetal a little I also adjusted the shock absorber bracket, thinking of maybe taking it into the metal shop and having it recut and straightened...

I'll definetly look under my fender and post some pics.. though it will have to be later this week.
