Close the door. Or remove the key from the ignition. - Just Kidding!!

?? Turn the lights off. One has nothing to do with the other.

Your park & dash lights shouldn't be on with your key in accessory position - they come on by turning the switch on the left stalk to the middle position or all the way to 'headlights up'. - they stay on as long as the switch is there, even if you pull your key from the ignition switch.

As to your door buzzer you could always disconnect the two switches in the door frames that tells the car the dor is ajar ("it's not a jar, you can't screw off the top" etc. etc.) but then you lose your dome light automatically coming on when the door is open.

then you have wires crossed in your steering column. Possibly a short circuit. Fix it ASAP as there's a potentially lethal fire hazard there.

I bet it has less to do with something factory wired wrong or malfunctioning than it has to do with someone wired something wrong somewhere. probally something aftermarket that was added such as a radio/guages?

Not neccessarily factory wired wrong, but probably a back yarder 'repairing' light wiring.

In my '83 some previous owner had 'repaired' the oil pressure gauge resulting in a seeping of oil above the steering column (it was the type that sends oil to the gauge to read the pressure) Had I ever had an ignition short prior to fixing this 'repair' I'd have become a human fireball.

You would no-longer be human if you were a fireball, you would be ash and some left over carbon.
