1st gen pricing?

How much would a very mint condition low mileage (like sub 50k miles) 83 go for? the car had been under a car cover (under socal weather and a roof) recieving minor maintanance periodically.. all oringinal..runs perfect and passes emissions!

would it be a sin to turn it into a spec racer?

$1500, it is cheaper to by one in good condition than restore one.

I agree. I paid $1500 cash for mine. Only has a few minor blemishes around its body, and it also had an oil leak on it tho. Altho, if it's mint, it might go for around $1800 or so. Go to www.kbb.com or www.nada.com to truly find out what it's worth.

Yes it would be bad to turn it into a spec racer. Many good, but not mint bodies available for racing.

if it is clean you might get several thousand on ebay. people are suckers for low mileage cars.

thanks for the answers. I am not looking to buy one, but to help a friend sell one. This vehicle is perfect.. looks better than my 99 mazda. did that model year come with a clearcoat? the paint looks newer and shiner

alright, I'll let him know his best bet is Ebay. maybe I'll post some pictures when I get em.

$1800-2000. Worth more outside of CA. I paid $1700 for a v.g. 85GSL, all leather, PS. Just a crunch if the LF corner. Been my DD for 3-4 years.

The 83s have excellent paint. My Misty Blue 83GS, which I bought new and now has 130k, looks like new (I always cover it).

The true answer would be its worth is whatever someone is willing to pay. You could post it for sale here for $2500 or some high amount for free (both fiscally and risk) then if it does not sell put it e-bay.

weird, i live in saskatchewan and the pricing on rx7,s seem so much more expensive, ive looked at so many and everyone is asking 4000-8000 dollars. I bought my 85-gsl completely stock/76k/ mint conditon for 6000 bucks and around here everyone thought that was a good deal???
