1985 gsl-se no power to starter (new battery)!

Hey Guys
I have been trying to fix a fuel issue and while cracking the car for a few minutes the starter stop cranking .
I have a new battery so plenty of juice, thats not the problem. So far I have tested a couple-of used starters I have and nothing. I also tried a couple a couple of ignition switches and they all light up the cluster but cant hear the starters make a click or any sounds. I checked the ground and cleaned up the grounding surfaces and nothing . Also tried a couple of clutch pedal switches …. My question is can I test starters , clutch switches ignition switches with out actually removing them and just connecting them to the car harness . What you guys think I should try next? Thank in advance

I just swapped out the starter and now is good.
For anyone wondering if you can test a removed starter using the car wiring ,!it will not. The starter needs to be mounted to car or you can bench test using a 12v battery .

If you ground the starter body you can spin it out side the car. Well as long as it isn't locked up.
