Slow starter

Since Ive had my GSL-SE every time I try to start the car it sounds very sluggish, I turn the key and it sounds almost as if it is starving for power, like the battery is dying/dead. But i just bought a new battery and the altenator is new and works great.
Once the car is running I have plenty of power...Its only when the starter is turning. Also the clutch seems to draw ALOT of power. When I press it in it drops about 300RPM. WTF

the clutch cannot "draw" power. with the clutch pedal pressed in, it takes the engine power away from the trans in very simple terms. you have something wrong with your idle when the engine is warm. what is the idle if the shifter is in neutral without the clutch pressed in? regardless of that, your starter is bad. if you have a new battery, and you are sure your grounds are good, then the starter is at fault. when they get old, they can cause a draw when engaged, as you described. i would first check your gounds. there is one on the left strut tower, near a brake line in the engine compartment. it it held by one 10mm bolt. clean that. heck, while you are at it, check the condidtion of your battery cables. replace them if you are in doubt. if you check the grounds and the cables appear ok and not broken internally, then replace the starter. they are realtively inexpensive.
